The Magic Fly returns to Bastard Jazz for his follow-up 12” to his “Champion Mushroom EP” released last year. This time around, he enlists the talents of prolific UK soundsystem veteran Ricky Ranking (recently known for his appearances on the Bug’s “London Zoo” album and his work with Roots Manuva) on the mic for some serious vibes.

“Two Planets” is a heavy disco-dub track with skankin’ groove and chats galore from Ranking. A true summertime crate mainstay, this tune has been floor tested and crowd approved while waiting in the wings at Bastard Jazz. To the flip, up-and-coming Bristol producer Mr. Benn takes the original reggae-disco flavor of the original and throws some nasty bass wobbling stylings into the mix with just a touch of Baltimore Club music. It’s a bonafide dancefloor killer with rare crossover appeal into the dubstep, breakbeat, b-more, and bass driven worlds – with hints of them all. Also included is the instrumental of the original for your mashing pleasure.
